As the sun works it way west every day, across all of north America on its trek to the Pacific I imagine all of the beauty it illuminates on its trip. The splendor of the Delaware Water Gap, the sparkling deep blue waters of the Great Lakes and the snowcapped peaks of the Rockies. And, as it crosses the last few feet of the 3000 mile long journey across all of the grandeur of our continental home I imagine the sun looking down at Venice Beach and thinking:
WTF is that? Is that a 30 foot tall ballerina complete with an animatronic leg that kicks in rhythm to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" in full clown make up and five o' clock shadow? Is it on a CVS building? My God that's weird.
Now available from Myah London-Harwell, our homage to the randomness of life, imagination and our adopted home of Venice Beach. Featuring the "Clownerina" statue, the beloved sculpture compared to Picasso and Seurat when it was unveiled in 1989 is perhaps the most striking and beloved landmark to Venice Beach's residents and 10 million annual visitors. Full size run available (if you don't see the size you want put it in as a comment at check out we should be able to accommodate it) but as is the case of all our shirts they are limited run and when they run out variations may be made but the same image / color combo will be gone forever. The shirts are made of a high quality synthetic blend. Important note, the shirts are still in production and will not ship until January 2023.
For those not familiar with sculptor Jonathan Borofsky’s masterpiece, you can find the story here.
